Nephalem,
We have deployed v1.2.8, a stability hotfix after the large v1.2.7 rollout. This pass focuses on long Adventure sessions with mixed online/offline parties, cleaner disconnect handling, and faster support diagnostics when login issues are reported.
What is fixed in v1.2.8
- Offline AI disconnect loop guard: offline characters are no longer re-processed every tick as if they had to be removed again. This removes high-frequency server churn that could build up in busy games.
- Safe forced cleanup path: when a hard remove is required (admin action, takeover, emergency cleanup), the server now disengages the offline state in a controlled way before final removal, preventing stuck ghost-session edge cases.
- Adventure/party continuity under load: disconnect and rejoin paths were tightened so mixed groups (online players plus offline AI characters) stay more stable during high activity.
- Auth diagnostics framing restored: authentication logs now keep clear separator framing on key login outcomes, so Support can isolate account/login incidents faster without noisy log scans.
Expected gameplay impact
- Lower chance of freeze-like pressure spikes in long-running public sessions.
- Smoother behavior for characters left in .offline mode while others keep playing.
- More reliable hard-recovery behavior when a session must be force-cleaned.
- Faster incident turnaround when reporting authentication problems.
Quality and safety
- 0 build errors after integration.
- No rollback of v1.2.7 features: Offline AI, retaliation, per-player campaign, rejoin position, and watchdog systems remain active.
If you notice instability, please report hero name, zone, UTC time, and whether .offline was active in Support.
