1. Nature of the Service & Legal Disclaimer

Educational Research Project

Zethrone is strictly a non-profit, educational research project dedicated to the study of network programming, server architecture, and clean-room reverse engineering.

By accessing this website or connecting to our server, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • No Affiliation: This project is NOT affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Blizzard Entertainment, Inc., or any of its subsidiaries or its affiliates.
  • Custom Core: The server software running this environment is 100% custom-written code developed from scratch by our team. It implies no use of stolen, leaked, or proprietary server-side code belonging to Blizzard Entertainment.
  • Client Ownership: We do NOT distribute the Diablo III game client. You certify that you own a legal copy of the game and have installed it via official means (Battle.net) before connecting to this educational server for interoperability testing purposes.
  • Non-Competition: We strongly encourage all users to purchase the official game and play on official servers to support the developers. This server is a community tribute and does not seek to compete commercially with the official service.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

All rights regarding the "Diablo" trademark, game assets, art, lore, music, and client-side software are the sole property of Blizzard Entertainment.

Zethrone claims no ownership over these assets. Our claim of rights is strictly limited to the custom server-side database structures, scripts, and web code developed by our team, which are distinct from Blizzard's intellectual property.

3. Donations & Contributions

No Refund Policy

All monetary contributions to the server are considered voluntary gifts to support hardware maintenance, DDoS protection, and hosting costs.

By donating, you strictly agree that:

  • You are not purchasing any goods, services, or tangible products.
  • "Coins" or "Virtual Items" received as a token of gratitude have zero real-world value and remain the property of the server.
  • You waive any right to a refund or chargeback. Any attempt to initiate a chargeback will result in an immediate and permanent ban of your account and IP address, and your details may be shared with anti-fraud databases.

4. Account Ownership & Termination

You do not own your account, characters, items, or any virtual assets stored on our servers. These are data entries on a private database owned by Zethrone.

  • We reserve the right to terminate, suspend, or modify your account at any time, for any reason, without notice or compensation.
  • Server wipes (resets) may occur if necessary for technical reasons or seasonal updates.
  • Prohibited Conduct: Usage of third-party software (bots, maphacks), exploitation of bugs, Real Money Trading (RMT), or toxic behavior will result in a permanent ban.

5. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. Zethrone explicitly disclaims any responsibility for:

  • Data loss, character rollbacks, or downtime.
  • Any damage to your computer system resulting from connecting to our custom environment.
  • Legal consequences you may face for modifying your local client files (if applicable) to connect to a private server.
